It’s What’s up Wednesday with Sheaffer & Shay! I’m sharing a little about what’s been going on around here this month.

What We’re Eating this Week
It’s been SO HOT this week so we have been eating out more than we probably should. I just can’t stand the thought of heating up the house and standing over the hot stove when it feels like it’s over 100 outside.
What I’m Reminiscing About
School started for the kids this month and it’s had me reflecting on our summer together. The older the boys get, the more I realize how truly special this time with them is. Before long they will be wanting to spend less time with us, so I’m so grateful that we were able to soak up all the fun over the past couple of months.
What I’m Loving
Now that we are back to our usual routine, thing are getting busy. With two kids in three sports plus all the school and family events, I’ve been searching for a way to keep us all on track and organized. This Skylight Calendar is great for keeping track of all the things. It does so much more than just keep everyone on track. You can also track chores and other tasks. It also looks so much better than the old dry erase calendar method.
What We’ve Been Up To
I turned 40 this week so we spent lots of time with friends and family over the weekend. I had so much fun, but forgot to take any pictures.
What I’m Excited About
I’m pretty sure I’ve been saying this since the start of summer. I can’t wait for fall! Bring on all the colors, cozy clothes, and pumpkins.
What I’m Reading/Listening To
I just finished reading/listening to This Summer Will Be Different by Carley Fortune. I really enjoy her storytelling and this one was just the easy listen I needed this season.
What Amazon Purchase Did I Love This Month
A few weeks ago, my car wouldn’t start when I tried to leave work. It was a rare day that I was in the office and of course I parked next to a cement pillar and couldn’t get another car close enough to give me a jump. One of my colleagues brought out this portable jump starter and it saved my day! It got me thinking about all the things I need to start keeping in my car at all times. I’ve included the list below of my top 10 (full post on these coming soon)! I’m thinking about buying a set of all of these for family members this year.
- A way to jump your car battery
- LifeVac Home Kit
- Portable Door Lock
- Disposable Urinals
- Car Hammer
- Fire Extinguishing Spray
- First Aid Kit
- Solar-Powered Backup Charger
- Sting-Kill
- Portable Tire Inflator
What I’m Doing This Weekend
NOTHING! We have had such a busy summer that I’m looking forward to staying home and doing a little fall reset over the long weekend. We only have one soccer game for the kids, so I’m going to cross all the things off of my todo list. I’m also going to get back on track with all the posts. I was not as active on here as I wanted to be in July and August.
That’s it for today. Have a wonderful week, everyone!
Happy belated birthday!
Thank you!!
