Happy New Year! I hope 2024 was good to you and that you have a fabulous start to 2025. I’m spending my day getting set for the new year. This time of year is always when I ensure that my home office is in order (see this post for ideas to set up your home office space) after the holiday break. Once that is complete, I settle in and begin to plan out my month in my 2025 planner.

If you’re anything like me, the idea of starting fresh with a new planner is a mix of hope and a little bit of worry that I might get started and not stick to it. We want a perfectly organized year, but then life happens and we don’t stick to it as much as we thought we would. My biggest problem was that I got overwhelmed with all of the stuff I didn’t need or want and I always felt guilty spending money on something that I would end up not using.

Last year, I decided to create my own planner that fit just the basics that I needed, and I’ve updated it to share with you again this year. From meal tracking to grocery lists, to planning pages; this planner has everything you need to stay on top of the important things without worrying about all the stuff you won’t use. You can download my free printable 2025 planner at the bottom of this post. It’s a digital download, so you can choose to print the entire thing at once, or just print what you need when you need it.

Coloring Pages

Between juggling work and all the things my kids need, I always need a quick mental break. The coloring pages throughout this 2025 planner are a perfect way to disconnect and recharge, even if it’s only for a few minutes.

Tip for using this page: Keep a set of my favorite pens on your desk to grab when you get the urge to take a break and clear your mind. If your kids are in your space when you’re trying to plan, you can also let them color while you work on your plans.

Monthly Layout

We all know that our mom brains operate in two ways: “I’ve got this” and “Oh, no! When is that due?” The monthly layout gives space to keep track of important dates, and appointments at a glace so you can see your month all in one place. There’s also a place to add monthly goals and any notes you want to keep track of for the month.

Tip for using this page: Do a quick “brain dump” at the start of each month. Write down any important deadlines, birthdays, sports games and practices, or school events. Use a different color for work, family, and personal tasks so they stand out. Not only does it make things feel less overwhelming, but it also makes it a little prettier, too.

Meal Tracker

This monthly meal tracker helps with planning and keeping track of the meals we are eating for the month. With space to jot down meals for the entire month, it’s easier to stay on track and avoid ordering takeout when we have food in the house. You can fill it in all at once or do it week by week. Having the meals for a whole month in one place makes it easier to look back and know what works for your family when planning for the next month.

One way I make this easier, is to pick three meals each week that I know everyone will eat. Then, I sprinkle in one or two things I want to try, and plan ahead which nights we will need to do something simple like leftovers or takeout. That way, I can stay on track with my groceries and our monthly food budget. I also ask my family to rate each meal and I color in the stars to let me know what to add to our regular rotation and what to leave out.

Tip for using this page: Plan your meals around your busiest days. For example, plan a slow cooker recipe for a night you know your kids have practice and save the meals with more prep time for nights when you aren’t as busy. Add a “leftovers” or “freezer night” to your plan so you can skip the cooking on nights you know you’ll need a break.

Weekly Planning Pages

The weekly planner is the page that I use the most. It helps me organize the most important tasks for the week and leaves space for my to-do list and essential groceries.

Tip for using this page: Choose your top three priorities for each day and add those in first in one color. Then, add in the “nice to haves” that you want to get to if you have time.

Month in Review

Finally, I included a reflection page to help as you’re wrapping up one month and planning for the next. This page gives you a chance to reflect on the month and notice what worked and what didn’t. This year, I’m excited to keep those and review them at the end of the year to help me see the progress made. Good things are coming in 2025!

Tip for using this page: Before completing this page, ask your family about their month and what they want to do for the next month. It’s a great way to involve your crew and remind yourself of what’s the most important as you plan.
