Let’s Look: Podcasts & Shows We Binge

For today’s Let’s Look with Shay and Erika, we are talking about podcasts and shows we are binging.

Podcasts

I have to admit, it took me a LONG time to start listening to podcasts. I’ve been a huge fan of audio books for a while now and typically listen them every chance I get throughout the day.

A couple of months ago, I got bored with my books and decided to check out a few podcasts that I had flagged based on recommendations from a few friends (bonus that all three are authors I love). Now I’m hooked! Here are the three I listen to every time a new episode comes out.

For The Love With Jen Hatmaker is my go-to when I need a little encouragement or want to be inspired to work on myself a little. Jen has always been one of my favorite authors because I love her style. It truly feels like I’m listening to a friend and I always appreciate her honestly and humor.

The Lazy Genius Podcast with Kendra is another one of my favorites. I heard about her method from several people and recently listened to her book. If you don’t know her, Kendra talks all about being a genius about the things that matter and lazy about the things that don’t. I love her philosophy and she has the best strategies and tips for dealing with just about anything. Her stories always motivate me to make some small changes in my life or around my house that eliminate stress and save time and energy.

We Can Do Hard Things with Glennon Doyle and Audacy is one that I go to when I have the time to think deeply about a topic. They talk openly and honestly about difficult topics and I always find myself getting sucked in and many episodes have stuck with me for a long time.

Shows

Now, on to the shows. I really haven’t been watching much TV this summer, but there are a few shows that I can’t wait to start back up with when their new seasons are released in the fall. One of my favorite things to do when the weather gets cooler is to curl up on the deck with a blanket, a glass of wine, and a binge-worthy show. Most of my choices are mostly chick flick with a little drama. I use my shows to take my mind off of everything and love to watch things that are light with a little romance. These three check all of those boxes for me.

Sweet Magnolias is set in a small town in the south and follows three friends through all the things life throws at them. I adore the friendship these ladies have and the small town vibes throughout.

I started watching Virgin River is about a nurse practitioner who moved to a small rural town in Northern California to get a fresh start. This is another one with small town vibes and lots of drama.

Emily In Paris is such a fun show. It takes me back to the days when I was a little younger with a lot less responsibility. The show has a little of everything. Great scenery, fun and quirky characters, and a little bit of romance.

If you have a podcast or show that you’re loving that I should add to the list, please let me know in the comments! I need some new ideas.
