I’m always on the hunt for an easy side hustle. Buying something just for me is one of my favorite forms of self-care. I also love saving money and finding good deals on just about anything. A friend mentioned to me that by scanning her receipts in various apps, she was able to earn enough spending money to splurge on some things just for her without feeling that always present guilt over buying something that wasn’t a necessity. Earning extra money just by scanning receipts?! Sign.Me.Up. Since then, using these apps has become a fun little side hustle of mine. Here are some of my favorites.

Apps
- Ibotta is a free app that gives you cash back from shopping in-store or online. You can save available offers in the app and redeem them by shopping through the app, or uploading receipts. After using this without changing my regular shopping habits, I usually earn somewhere between $50- $100 a month. Not enough to replace any income, but enough to pay for a pedicure and something fun just for me. You can download and sign up here . You will get $5 automatically when you submit your first receipt!
- Fetch Rewards lets you earn points by scanning digital or physical receipts. This one is super easy because it gives you points for any receipt (not just for specific offers). You can also link it to your Amazon or email account to make getting points for digital receipts even easier. Points can be redeemed for gift cards, donations to charitable organizations, or for Fetch merchandise. I typically earn close to $50 every 3 months by just scanning the receipts from my normal purchases. You can signup and download Fetch here.
- Amazon Shopper Panel is a program where you can earn Amazon rewards by scanning receipts, taking surveys, and enabling the app review the ads you see. You can earn up to $10 a month by scanning receipts and a little additional for surveys or opting in to their ad verification. You can find more information and request an invitation here.
- Tester Up pays you to test different apps, games, products, and take surveys on your phone or tablet to earn a little extra cash. Download the app to access available tests and cash out via PayPal. You can earn over 100 per test.
